Testimonials

Hi Vanessa

Thank you for your email I received the Deed of Settlement this morning.

I would also like to thank you for everything you have done for me. I know it hasn’t been easy or straightforward and I really appreciate all the help you have given. I don’t think I would have made it without your help and support. Hopefully you don’t get too many clients like me.

Hope you and your family are well and coping with this second lockdown.

Again thank you so much.

Kind regards

Simon Terry provided an excellent service assisting us in the commercial contracting of a number of global businesses – quick to grasp and advise on complex commercial matters and finding a means of concisely representing them to protect the interests and  growth of our business.

Simon Taylor, Group Commercial Director for The Eden Club

Hi Vanessa,

I would like to thank you for your commitment and professionalism throughout this case and would happily recommend you guys to any other poor sod in the same predicament.

Morning Vanessa,

I would also like to express my thanks and appreciation for your hard work on this case. Throughout, you have remained professional and provided us with excellent advice of which we are both grateful.

When I searched for a law firm to take on this case, I Googled, found CWD and read a few reviews on the firm. I have to say that CWD should feel proud to have you and equally, I would have no hesitation in recommending CWD.

Whilst the result was not a clean break, an 80% reduction with no extras and repayment of the last 3 months is an amazing achievement; variation of spousal maintenance is a very difficult case to prove!!

Hi Steve/Paul

I just wanted to send you quick note to thank you both for everything you done for me.

I really appreciate everything, you have both been fantastic. I couldn’t have asked for more and I am over the moon with the outcome.

If there is anything I can ever do for you guys please let me know, I’d love to return the gesture.

Thanks again guys, I’m a very happy man

Vanessa,

Thank you for everything, you have been truly amazing. My future is sunny now, for which I will always remember you.

I was represented by CWD Law in my re-trial at Southwark Crown Court, the jury in my original trial having failed to reach a verdict. Steve Foster was my appointed contact but access to other resources, most notably Paul Coleman, was freely available when required. Their ability to grasp what was a detailed case in such a short space of time and yet control it in a determined ,focused and ultimately successful fashion was extremely impressive. Their input also proved invaluable to appointed counsel as Steve and team were able to lead the direction of the whole defence strategy, including three other similar co-defendants, throughout .

The rapport between counsel, solicitor and client also proved pivotal in what was a seamless team across the board, led by Steve and Paul who were incredibly consistent at all times.

CWD, in marked contrast to previous appointees, provided very welcome and invaluable support and updates to close family members who were unaccustomed to the court process.

All in all, the whole CWD experience was a huge comfort and positive influence in what were very difficult circumstances and I would not hesitate in recommending them to anybody needing this kind of representation.

Paul Coleman and Coyle White Devine assisted myself and 2 former colleagues with a long-running dispute with a major UK bank.

Not only did we reach resolve quickly and satisfactorily our costs were kept to minimum and the advice given was both pertinent and effective.

Steve Foster and Paul Coleman,

Having been accused of a very serious allegation, I was advised to get legal representation sooner rather than later. I have to say that it was great advice. After my initial meeting with Steve Foster, I felt very comfortable and confident with him. Although at that stage it wasn’t clear as to what would happen next, Steve was very supportive and answered the numerous questions I had. I have to say that nothing was too much trouble for Steve. He always remained very professional, very supportive and he even took calls from me at the weekend in order to help me understand what was happening. He dealt with my concerns and reassured me every step of the way.

As the allegation and proceedings developed, Paul Coleman became part of the team. Both Steve and Paul encouraged me to involve my wife in our meetings. This not only provided me with support at home, but also helped her to understand what was happening and also what was likely to happen. Both Steve and Paul provided us both great support throughout. Until this all happened we had never had any involvement with the Police or the law courts. It made it all so much easier having them both available during the attendances at both the police station and courts and they both took the time to make sure we were both comfortable with the surroundings and fully understanding of what was going on.

Steve helped us to appoint our counsel and gave us great independent advice. Once instructed, my barrister became an extension of the legal team that I already had in place. She was very well briefed, not only about the case but also about us personally. This gave us both great reassurance when we first met her and throughout these proceedings.

Due to the hard work of Steve, Paul and my barrister, justice was served and I was acquitted after the judge dismissed the case against me at the end of the prosecution’s case. I truly feel that, had they not all been as professional and understanding of the case facts and the law as they were, things may have ended differently.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Steve and Paul. They made what was a very upsetting and stressful time for my wife and I as smooth as it could be, offering professional advice and support throughout. They have continued to offer me support and assistance post trial.

Paul,

We wanted to send you an email to thank you for everything you have done for us, we really do not know what we would have done without all your advice, help and support and couldn’t have wished for a better outcome.

We appreciate so much all you did for us and all the pressure, stress and strain you took off of our shoulders during 2015/2016.

It was lovely meeting you and we wish you a lovely Christmas and all the very best wishes for 2017 and the future.

Vanessa,

I would just like to close by saying that I genuinely appreciate everything you have done for me. Not only have you been extremely professional, but you also brought a human and understanding element into a very stressful and unpleasant situation and made everything so much easier to cope with.

In the nicest possible way, I hope that we don’t have to meet again on a professional basis. I wish you and yours well and hope that those who have need of your services in the future will appreciate you and everything you do for them.

Dear Peter, Emma and Liz,

Thank you very much for your work, you have done a really great job on the sale of our Company, and considering it was just within a matter of weeks, awesome.

I have employed Simon Terry on several occasions, over 10 years, ranging from personal legal issues to Mergers and Acquisitions. I have found Simon to be efficient, professional and cost effective. Simon is highly results focussed, very effective and a pleasure to do business with.

I would recommend Simon without hesitation and I will continue to work with him in the future.

David Sowerbutts, CEO, Oxygen Associates Limited (Management Consulting Company to FTSE100 Major Enterprises).

Simon Terry provided a complete legal service as I sold my company. Whilst this process had the usual issues (due diligence, negotiation, settlement, etc) Simon was proven more than equal to the task of managing everything smoothly.

I would recommend anyone to use Simon’s expertise for an effective and trustworthy legal service that achieves what the client wants. I would particularly draw out Simon’s ability to listen to the client’s needs and protect their position as though he were a close member of the internal team.

Shilpa Sanghani, Managing Director (Opticians and Eye Care).

Steve was so very professional in his handling of my case. He was very reassuring and I felt that he was extremely thorough when going over all of the evidence. He was absolutely amazing and I was so very confident having him represent me in these proceedings. I cannot recommended both Steve and Coyle White Devine highly enough!
Hello Paul,

Thank you for your reassuring conversation today, thank you again for your hard work and determination. Our lives have changed in the last 6 years in ways we never imagined but people like you and Julian are a godsend. You do not feel like a solicitor more like a good friend. When we get where we are going it would be nice to meet up so that we can thank you properly. Once again thank you for your dedicated work and reassurance.

Regards

Lisa and Andrew

Dear Paul,

Just a quick note to thank you for all the hard work and effort you put into the preparation for this hearing. Without your dedication and commitment, the clients would very likely have faced a much less positive outcome.

Looking forward to continuing our work on this.

All the best.

Nik

Steve Foster

I am writing to recommend to anyone going through any legal proceedings to stop and think twice about using our legal aid system. I agree that this is a wonderful thing to have access to but we found out just in time, how actually paying for a solicitor or representative’s time can prove to be instrumental in how many years you could actually serve.

My husband made the biggest mistake of his life and by his actions, he, myself and our three children are all serving the sentence.

We went through a very reputable London solicitors firm who promised us the world. This was all being done through Legal aid, as I did not have any funds to pay for a pricey London Solicitor. I found myself chasing and chasing them, and always feeling very frustrated.

It came to point only weeks before we were going to trial, that they started giving me the number of years they were thinking my husband would be away for. This absolutely terrified me and my husband, it was like their hands were tied and the advice they were giving us was to basically give up and take what is being handed to you.

We were very lucky to have a family member who investigated into things a little for us and put us in touch with Steve Foster from Coyle White Devine. This turned out to be a true blessing.

From the start Steve was very straight and honest with us about every aspect of our case. He worked quickly to secure us a top QC.

There were no lies, no hidden costs, everything was straight, and we all knew were we stood.

We went to trial in January with Steve and his colleague Paul Coleman only getting my husband’s information weeks before and we couldn’t have asked for a better outcome.

The team were absolutely amazing and we couldn’t recommend them enough. They have been such a support for me, keeping me in the loop right the way through the process. They were always at the end of the phone if I ever needed them.

It has taught us a valuable lesson that you get what you pay for. We were not ripped off, which I feel would have happened if the other company would have been charging us and everything with Steve and Paul was just honest and upright.

I cannot again recommend them highly enough, we were very lucky to have them in our corner.

Steve Foster assisted with a case that was discontinued by the National Crime Agency:

Mr Steve Foster was a calm influence at a time of great distress.  He was always easily contactable by phone or email and he quickly responded to any queries.  He handled all communication with the police on my behalf and he was professional at all times, ready with practical advice.  I would highly recommend him.

Dear Steve,

I needed help to deal with some serious allegations by a HSE inspector. Coyle White Devine were recommended to me as experts in this field.  You handled the case with professionalism from the beginning, answering all of my questions and with your advice the case was closed in no time against us!  For this I am truly grateful and would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone in a similar situation.

Dear Steve,

I believe that you have saved my life.

I became suicidal when my world fell apart in December 2017.  I lost my children, my home , my husband, my job and potentially my career. I had been given inept advice from another lawyer, who had allowed me to plead guilty to a crime I did not commit.

At my wit’s end, in the below freezing temperatures of December 2017, and homeless, I was given your number by a friend who is a family lawyer and who had heard outstanding reports of your excellent track record from a mutual colleague.

It was evening, yet you returned my call immediately and arranged to meet me the very next morning.  You and I worked together for months.  You listened to every detail I had to say, never hurrying me, and always paying complete attention.  When we first met in your offices in London that December morning, I collapsed emotionally and spent much of our consultation in tears as I shared with you the enormity of what had happened to me.  You remained professional throughout, and somehow managed to balance my need to be heard emotionally, as well as my need for concrete advice.  Not once did I feel pressured into appointing you.  What I felt was listened to, believed, and above all, given hope.

You responded either immediately, or very quickly, whenever I contacted you.  It felt as though I was your only client, and you were prioritising me.  You also maintained a respectful attitude towards the person who had made criminal allegations against me.  You sustained a keen awareness of my children’s needs throughout the whole process, despite never actually meeting any of them.

Every time I contacted you with a concern in relation to my case, you were always able to reassure me.  You were diligent in all aspects of my case, leaving “no stone unturned” – e.g. diplomatically helping me to choose an outfit for my first ever attendance in court, as well as sending me a full profile of my barristers, and being holistically minded enough to prioritise a criminal act, (which I sent you by video, thinking it may help my case) – over my case.  By doing so, you affirmed in me, the absolute belief that you are entirely focussed on justice – less about winning cases, and far more to do with ensuring justice gets as much opportunity as possible, to prevail.

Steve Foster assisted with a case for a client who appeared for sentencing in relation to a speeding offence:

Our client had previously pleaded guilty to this matter, having been clocked at 101mph in a 70mph limit.  He already had six points on his licence and so the endorsement of a further six points for this new offence would leave him liable to a totting-up disqualification.  Having fully considered, advised on and prepared the matter, we made an ‘exceptional hardship’ application and called evidence in support.  Our client is a full-time carer for his mother, who suffers from numerous medical problems.  We argued that she would suffer greatly from her son being unable to take her to hospital/doctor’s appointments, as would be the case if he was disqualified.  The Court ultimately agreed and imposed six penalty points and a fine, but no disqualification due to exceptional hardship.  Our client kept his licence.

Steve Foster assisted with a case for a client, following successful reps to the CPS to discontinue a domestic violence allegation against a healthcare professional:

You did absolutely everything possible to save my career, and you succeeded. My thanks are priceless.’’

Steve Foster assisted a client in interview who was facing an incredibly serious allegation:

It was a great weight off my shoulders to appoint Steve to represent me in my police interview under caution.  He met up with me a few days before to discuss my case, and I instantly felt at ease with his open manner and professional way he got on with discussing the case in a non-judgmental way.  Steve guided me through the possible options and outcomes and how the process of the law works.  I became quickly aware an interview is far too an important event not to get right, with many possible pitfalls.  Having Steve by my side I felt I had a massive pillar of positive support, representing my interests in an alien environment of a police interview.  He was steady and supportive, his experience shone through at every stage.

Thanks Steve

Steve Foster

The service that Coyle White Devine provided me with was second to none! Very understanding and professional in the manner they acted for me outside, and inside of court. Extremely efficient, thorough before trial which helped massively in the court room and, ultimately on the outcome. I would highly recommend anyone to use Coyle White Devine. Thank you!

Steve Foster

Hi Steve!  Wow!  Now I appreciate both D’s advice and recommendation for me to engage your services!  Many thanks for all the input from yourself and your team, I’m amazed at how lucky N was this morning.  I’m sure he realises how incredibly lucky he was and now has to go forward and build his future.
Once again, many thanks to you and your team Steve.

Paul Coleman

“Many thanks and appreciation to all at CWD. Especially Paul Coleman who worked tirelessly to represent me and my family and went above and beyond to get the best result possible within our circumstances. These last few years have been the most testing of our lives but we could not have had better support, understanding and service from anyone else.

Many, many thanks and appreciation, Andy & Lisa Dixon. In memory of Ken & Doreen Godward.”

Vanessa Macleod
